Day 5-I think I'm allergic to cats

I woke up this morning with body pain, dry eyes, sinus congestion and a head ache. I didn't want to get out of bed. Plans got changed last evening and I ended up going to my friend's place instead of them coming over since they had some work things they needed to do from home. I made the mistake of having a glass of wine before going over, two glasses at dinner, then went out with another friend after and had what I think was two more glasses of wine. I got into bed around 1:30 I think, and woke up asking myself if all of this pain was from an allergy to Janie, or as I like to call her Cleopatra. Nope, I was hung over. It's 2pm now and I'm just having my first cup of coffee. Lots of ginger tea, water, and frequent naps have gotten me this far. I ate a yogurt for breakfast, had 3 empinadas for lunch, and am about to snack on a grilled cheese. I figured that food, coffee, and lots of liquids is what I need right now. Meanwhile, Janie is peacefully asleep on her spot in the living room. I don't know what her plans for New Years are but I need to make a speedy recovery so I can enjoy myself tonight. I still have a few hours to go before leaving, but man oh man what a morning that was.

Day 4 Lick, Lick, Lick Purrrr!

Currently my arm is being given a Kitty Bath. I think she enjoys either the taste of my deodorant or body lotion. I'm still unsure. She didn't pester me this morning for play or food but waited till I was ready to get up. That's when the meows started. No more sickness since I've decreased the amount of food in the bowl at a time. She does better with pacing. So noted! Horay!

I had a friend over for dinner last evening. He discovered that she was a lap kitty as Cleopatra took to him very fondly. He explained to me that Cleo is a Calico Kitty since she's a girl (all calico's are girls) and that it doesn't apply to a kind of breed but a color variation in their fur. If it purrs like a cat, it's still a cat to me; no matter the name. She's such a gentle creature.

This evening I might entertain for two guests, an old friend and his partner. Janie/Cleo is excited. She's bating now as we speak. Plenty to do today with preparations and the exciting event of new years eve tomorrow. A lot of fun has been happening here in the Big Apple. I'm also hoping that my sister will come for a visit this weekend. She is new to the Streets of Manhattan, and thinks in terms of the Tree, The Ball, and Central Park. I'm happy to walk her through a crowd to lesser traffic areas and show her what New York City is like without flashing lights. Cross your fingers for me.

Day 2/3 Kittin Sittin Cleo...

Day 2/3

I was out most of the day yesterday, thus needing to consolidate two days in a single entry. Miss Cleo seems fine, still making her psychic predictions. I've had to keep a better monitor over her eating habits because I fear she has become bulimic. She scarfed down her dinner so fast that she became sick. Not sure if it's just the adjustment or nerves of me being here with her father's being gone; so I've paced out her meals in smaller portions giving her time to digest and settle down from each meal. It appears to be working. I never really believed in those cat videos where kitty wake's parents for food or morning attention until I experienced it first hand. So you want to lay on top of me, fine! Put your claw into my knee? Not cool! At that point I turned over and she continued her playful 'chase me' dance till I complied.

I was skyping a friend of mine last evening and she continued to interrupt the cession. She's such an exhibitionist. Cats! What are ya gonna do? Her dads have taught her well.

Morning Kitten Day 3

Kitten Cleopatra (Janie) isn't she pur-ty?

Day 1 -Kittin Sittin Adventures

Day 1 - Kitten-sitting adventures...

I finally reached the lavender scented apartment. Turns out I was walking up and down the wrong street looking for the dumpster landmark without luck. I eventually discovered it overflowing a street over. Dragging behind me was my luggage with a missing wheel that I must have misplaced on one of the streets I had crossed earlier. Thanks to construction rerouting the normal 15 min ride became; what was it? an hour! I ended up taking the wrong train into Brooklyn so I could at least walk to the correct station. I over crossed it a few blocks then had to turn back with this annoying scraping noise behind me. Fortunately the cat was here when I arrived. I performed the normal ritual of first laying down on the bed so that Janie, or as I call her Cleopatra, could pur and greet me in her kitty voice. After all that I stripped off my drenched clothing to cool off. Mikey felt gross. Mikey felt real gross.

I discovered a letter for me on the table. What a beautiful drawing of the Belvedere on brown parchment. Next to it was an award with my name on it announcing me as the winner of the Drag Award. I never even realized I was entered in the contest but I graciously accepted my certificate and waved lightly. I attempted to read my letter but Cleopatra was interfering with my eyesight and the parchment so I promised I'd attend to my post later. She thanked me and licked my salty arm. She seems happy for the company. The gentle owners of this feline left me a series of gifts and various post it notes throughout the apartment. One of the presents was a small Muppet key-chain of the dog Rowlf. Now honestly, who would leave dog paraphernalia while I'm sitting a Cat? Kitty was sure to share her disposition by pawing at Rowlf, so I told her I valued her input and tucked him away. She continued to lick my arm. Maybe she realized I needed a bath? It's true.
